Hi there,
I am going to be moving to Kosice in Slovakia for study, and want to get another Legacy, probably a >1999 BE9 (2.5 Quad Cam Saloon) I currently have a BD5 in the UK but obviously the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
I have been looking all over internet hunting for 2nd hand subaru's for sale, but can only seem to find the latest models! Even Ebay and Autotrader are pretty thin on the ground, and are looking for €6000,- + where as the same car would be about £1500-2000 in the UK (But with steering on wrong side.)
Currently I am in Prague for three days (Beautifull city btw!) but heading back to Kosice overnight on the train.
Could someone give me some tips as to where to look? I don't mind traveling at all, Even NL/BE/DE/FR/PL/CZ/SK/HU I don't really mind, as long as I find what I am looking for.
Many thanks,
Daniel.

Take the one you have in IK with you. YOu will get used to drive on the other side of the road. I did the same while studying in UK for a while.

Thanks for the reply,
I don't really want to take mine with me, its too far plus I wont be able to sell it here very well and ontop of that I really want a BE Model 2.5
I could take it here and sell it to someone moving to the UK, but with the current economic climate I dont think it would work so well, as I would get the same price for it here as I would in the UK Because its RHD.
I would rather sell mine in the UK and buy a newer LHD one here.
Any tips where to source second hand Subaru's?
Thanks,
Daniel.

Try the Classifieds here, then you might try the TIPCARS.cz or www.mobile.de. I know about one nice Legacy 2.5 manual/sedan/1999 but probably way above your budget. By the way, I am currently workung in Kosice so we might organize some mini SUBARU meeting.

Thanks for the reply Tomas,
Those links look promising! Lots of stuff around the price range I was looking at (€5500-€6500)
I won't be buying one till I'm settled in here, but a lot still has to happen.. I wont actually be moving here until August/September.
Ontop of that.. I have quite a few parts on my current legacy I would like to swap over, like Whiteline Anti Roll Bars and Stainless steel unequal length headers, and the Audio setup. So at some point both cars would have to make it to the same place for some swapping over to take place. That, or I sell the other one complete and buy new parts, but being a student etc..
Out of curiosity, what are you driving in Kosice?
Many thanks,
Daniel.

Impreza, the one from my profile. Leone is sold and I am looking for GT and or WRX. For reasonable money. Because I have friend in UK, I do no mind to buy the one with steering on wrong side. .
Do you know about some?TK

If your after a Legacy GT or GTB (I'm sure your aware due to the Twin Turbo Setup you can't get them in Left hand drive.) try taking a look on www.uklegacy.com Its the UK's Subaru Legacy page, which is my "home".
GT's and GTB's are going for peanuts now due to the economic recession, people cant afford to keep them running or to pay the fuel cost. 240HP for a GT for around £1500-£2000 isn't much.
Regards,
Daniel.

I'm here now! Only problem is the vehicle needs to go back to the UK as my insurance will only cover me for 3 months.. and I can't import the vehicle here as the steering is on the wrong side..
Would be ideal if I could find a Non running BD5 shell with Left hand drive that I can bolt everything onto.
So if you see a green/grey/silver (My documents cant make up their mind! I think its green..) BD5 around the Kosice area with a GB sticker on the back, beep your horn! It's me!
Cheers,
Daniel.
